진로 및 취·창업 비교과 프로그램이 대학생의 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향 분석

Abstract

진로 준비와 선택은 한 개인의 생애에서 가장 중요한 과업으로서 다양한 경험과 환경 및 타인과의 상호작용 속에서 이루어진다. 특히, 대학생의 진로준비행동은 원활한 사회로의 진입을 위해 자기 자신에 대해 깊이 이해하고, 최적의 진로 대안을 선택하여 취업 가능성을 높이는, 즉 진로발달단계에서의 과업을 성공적으로 이루기 위해 필수적인 것으로 인정받고 있다. 이에 이 연구는 KEEPⅡ의 3-7차년도 자료를 바탕으로 로짓모형과 OLS, 패널분석 등을 활용하여 각 대학들이 제공하는 진로 및 취․창업 비교과 프로그램들이 대학생들의 진로준비행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 실증적으로 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석 결과, 대학에서 제공하는 진로 및 취․창업 서비스에 많이 참여하는 학생일수록 구직활동 참여 확률이 높아질 뿐만 아니라 구직활동 경험 또한 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 개별 프로그램의 효과성과 관련하여 기업 및 채용 정보 제공, 취업 준비 프로그램, 현장실습 및 인턴 프로그램, 취업 관련 동아리와 같이 취업에 직접적으로 관련된 프로그램에 참여한 학생들이 그렇지 않은 학생들에 비해 구직활동 참여 확률이 높으며, 참여 경험 또한 많은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 창업 관련 동아리 참여는 대학생들의 진로준비행동에 오히려 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 위의 분석 결과를 통해 대학 차원에서 재학생들의 진로 및 취․창업 비교과 프로그램 참여율을 높이기 위해 보다 적극적으로 노력할 필요가 있으며, 진로 및 취․창업 프로그램의 질적인 개선 노력 또한 병행될 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

Career preparation and decision-making are among the most critical tasks in an individual's life, achieved through diverse experiences, environments, and interactions with others. In particular, the career preparation behaviors of college students are recognized as essential to successfully accomplish the tasks of the career development stage, i.e., to gaining a deep understanding of oneself, to choose the best career alternative, and to enhance employability for a smooth entry into society. In this context, the purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of extracurricular career and employment programs provided by universities on students' career preparation behaviors, using logistic regression models, OLS, and panel analysis on data from the 3rd to 7th waves of the KEEP II survey. The analysis results indicate that students who participate more frequently in career and employment services offered by universities have a higher probability of engaging in job-seeking activities and possess more job-seeking experiences. Secondly, regarding the effectiveness of individual programs, students who participated in programs directly related to employment — such as corporate and recruitment information sessions, job preparation programs, field training and internship programs, and employment-related clubs — showed a higher probability of engaging in job-seeking activities and had more job-seeking experiences compared to those who did not participate. Conversely, participation in entrepreneurship-related clubs was found to have a negative impact on the career preparation behaviors of university students. Through these analysis results, this study suggests that universities need to make more proactive efforts to increase the participation rates of current students in extracurricular career and employment programs, and that efforts to improve the quality of career and employment programs should also be pursued in parallel.
