Abstract

The technical changes in IT and the transformation of relevant industries, as well as information on the new workforce are requested with the emergence of knowledge-based society and digital economy. However, without spec표ic information on the state of the π workforce supply and occupational mobility of the IT-skilled workers, there are a lot of difficulties in working out policies for educating and utilizing the IT workforce. In particular, the rapid technical growth of the IT workforce has made difficult to estimate the demand in the workforce, which created a serious mismatch between the supply and demand of the IT workforce both in terms of quality and quantity. Although nationwide as well as worldwide, various researches on the scale, distribution, and demand of the IT workforce from each indus따" jobs, and technology level have been carried out, not enough projections on the supply and demand for the IT workforce have yet to be made. However, projections on supply parts don' t have enough time series data; and due to the lack of research in the consistency between school courses and work, it is unlikely to have reliable projections on the supply and demand. In order to verify the highly reliable scale of the supply for the π workforce, this research analyzed the data by merging the graduates and employment insurance data sets. Based on the results, projections on the supply and demand for the IT workforce were carried out. Based on these projections, by analyzing the state of the mid- and long-term supply of the IT workforce, this research intends to draw policy implications for improving the supply of the IT workforce and planning the education of IT-related human resources. ...
