Abstract

Millions of Jobs were lost last year because of the IMF situation. Although a relatively large body of job loss research has developed, it has tended to be descriptive, outlining the effect of vocational training to the unemployed, and not theory-driven research. In addition, unemployment research has ignored individual difference variables that distinguish between individuals who successfully work reemployment and those who do not. The present study was designed to investigate the issue of reemployment path for individuals following a completion of institutionalized vocational training. The major purposes of this study were 1) to investigate the relationship between present employment status, reemployment or unemployment, and other selected variables, and 2) to explain and predict the differences between reemployment and unemployment groups on the suggested variables. ...
