중등 직업교육에서의 전문교과 원격수업 실태와 향후과제

Abstract

본 연구는 코로나19로 인해 급격하게 도입된 중등 직업교육에서의 전문교과 원격수업의 실태를 종합적으로 파악하고, 이와 연계하여 향후 논의해야 할 단기, 중장기 과제를 제안하는 데 주요 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 554개교 1,530명의 전문교과 교사들을 대상으로 원격수업에 관한 실태조사를 실시하였으며, 주요 교과(군)별 당면 이슈를 심층적으로 분석하기 위해 8명의 전문교과 교사를 대상으로 FGI를 실시하였다. 조사 결과 전문교과 원격수업 시 실습과 관련된 내용을 다루는 비율이 현저히 낮게 나타났으며, 교사들은 전문교과 콘텐츠 부족, 학생들의 참여 동기 저하로 인한 수업 운영의 어려움 등을 겪고 있었다. 이러한 조사 결과를 토대로 교사의 원격수업 설계 역량 강화, 학생들의 실습권 보장을 위한 다양한 대안 마련 등을 제안하였고, 향후 중장기 논의과제로 전문교과 원격수업의 평가방법에 대한 연구, 직업교육 특성을 반영한 원격수업 플랫폼 구축 등을 제시하였다.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the current status of distance education in vocational high schools, which were rapidly done with the wide spread of COVID-19. To this end, we conducted a online survey of vocational teachers on their experience in distance education. 1,530 vocational teachers from 554 schools participated in this survey. In addition, the FGI was conducted on 8 vocational teachers in each major category. As a result of this study, we have identified some issues. First, it is difficult to deal with practical teaching in distance education. Student can not use equipment and it’s hard to get the materials they need inside their home. Third, the teachers were suffering from a lack of vocational learning content in online. Third, some students had constraints in terms of learning environment in their home and the remote learning has left them with a lack of learning motivation. Based on these findings, we suggested that vocational teachers need to strengthen their ability to distance learning design and to come up with alternatives to guarantee students' right to practice. We also suggested further research agenda on methods for evaluating distance education and the establishment of a online platform that reflects the specificity of vocational education.
