지위획득모형을 통한 마이스터고 졸업 임금근로자의 노동시장 이행성과 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 ‘한국교육고용패널조사Ⅱ(KEEP2)’의 4개년 데이터를 활용하여 마이스터고를 졸업한 임금근로자의 노동시장 이행성과를 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 직업경로가 유사한 특성화고 졸업생을 비교집단으로 설정하고, 지위획득모형 관련 논의들에서 노동시장 이행성과의 주요 예측요인이자 학교효과의 선행요인으로 밝혀진 학교소재지, 부모 교육수준 및 가구소득을 경향점수매칭 방식으로 통제한 후, 집단 간 노동시장 이행성과를 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 객관적 이행성과와 관련하여 부모효과 및 학교소재지를 통제하여도 마이스터고 졸업생은 취업률, 선호직장 및 직업형태, 임금, 복지후생 영역에 있어 더 나은 조건을 획득하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 마이스터고 졸업생은 고교에서 학습한 전공과 일치된 업무에의 만족을 중심으로 시간이 경과하여도 높은 직장생활만족을 유지하였다. 또한 입직 초기에 있어 마이스터고 졸업생의 학력 일치도, 임금, 복지후생에 대한 만족이 더 높았으며, 삶의 행복 또한 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 학교효과와 함께 개인특성에 해당하는 학생의 전문교과 성취가 상호작용 하면 노동시장 이행성과가 상승하는 경향을 보였다. 그리고 전문교과 성취수준이 높은 마이스터고 졸업생의 고교생활만족이 높았으며, 직장생활만족은 학생 개인 특성보다는 학교유형이 유의한 영향임을 확인하였다.

This study aimed to demonstrate the labor market performance of wage workers graduating from Meister High School (MHS) by using the four-year data of the ‘Korea Education and Employment Panel Survey II’. Base on this, graduates of specialized high schools with similar vocational paths were set as comparative group, and school location, parents’ education level, and family income, which were identified as main predictors on the labor market performance, were controlled and analyzed. As a main result, first, it was found that MHS graduates obtain better objective performance conditions in employment rate, preferred job, monthly income, and welfare even if the school and parent effects are controlled between two groups. Second, MHS graduates continuously maintained higher job satisfaction, focusing on their horizontal mismatch. In addition, in the early employment period, MHS graduates were more satisfied with their vertical mismatch, wages, and welfare benefits, and their happiness in life was also higher. Third, regarding the individual's academic achievement emphasized by the Wisconsin status acquisition model, MHS graduates with higher levels of achievement in specialized courses were significantly satisfied with their high school life.
