학과 선택의 내적동기를 매개변인으로 한 고등학생의 진로결정수준이 대학 만족도 및 적응도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 고등학교 3학년 학생을 대상으로 희망전공 선택에 대한 확신과 정보수준을 기준으로 측정한 진로결정수준이 대학 진학 후의 대학생활 전반 및 선택학과에 대한 만족도와 학업에의 적응도에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 연구에서는 선행연구 결과에 근거하여 학과선택 시 내적동기의 영향력을 두 변인간의 매개변인으로 가정하였다. 고등학생의 진로결정수준과 학과선택 시 내적동기를 포함한 개인 및 가정변인들의 대학 만족도 및 적응도에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해서 회귀분석을 수행하였으며, 고등학생의 결정수준, 학과선택의 내적동기, 대학 만족도 및 적응도간의 관계를 분석하기 위해서는 경로모형분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과 고등학생의 진로결정수준은 실제 대학 진학 시 학과선택에 미치는 내적동기의 영향력을 매개로 할 때 대학 만족도 및 적응도에 정적인 영향을 주고 있으며, 대학 만족도 및 적응도에 직접적인 영향을 주지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 대학생활 전반 및 선택한 학과에 대한 만족도를 높이고 학업생활에의 적응력을 높이는 데에는 전공 선택에의 확신 여부와 정보수준 보다는 학과선택 시의 내적동기가 더 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있다는 점을 시사한다.

This paper aims to analyze the impact of career decision level -measured by high school students' decision on their future major and information level- on the level of satisfaction on their major decision and the level of adaptability. Based on previous literature, this paper takes intrinsic motivation in major decision as mediating variable. The authors carried out multiple regression analysis on the impact of individual and family variables including career decision level of high school students on their college satisfaction and adaptability level, while deployed path analysis in order to analyze the relationship between the career decision level, intrinsic motivation, and college satisfaction and adaptability level. The results of statistical analyses show that career decision level of high school students indirectly influences the college satisfaction and adaptability level, mediated by the impact of intrinsic motivation. Also, it does not directly influence college satisfaction and adaptability level. Therefore, this study finds that the intrinsic motivation in major decision, rather than the career decision level measured in high school, plays a significant role in increasing the satisfaction on their choice of major and overall college study and their adaptability.
