- Abstract
- This research paper examined Government strategies on human resource development in such five major APEC economies as USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Singapore. Based on the analysis, it also drew implications for Korean Government's human resource development strategies. First of all, studies were undertaken both on the knowledge-based economy of the five countries and on backgrounds, implementation strategies, delivery systems, and major policies in the fields of human resource development initiated by each government. Implications for Korean case were drawn thereupon.
Official Government documents related to human resource development from the five major APEC economies were collected. Related internet homepage was widely used for material collection. Additional materials were collected via communication with APEC Secretariat in Singapore. Materials written in Korean were acquired through personal contacts with relevant Ministries of the Korean Government.
