대학생의 인터넷의 활용방식과 부모와의 관계가 대학생활에 미치는 영향 : 공정성 측면에서의 탐색

Abstract

현 연구는 한국직업능력개발원에서 종단적으로 조사한 교육고용패널자료를 활용하여 인터넷을 활용하는 방식이 부모-대학생 자녀와의 관계에 따라 인터넷 중독 증상에 영향을 미쳐 대학생들이 학교생활을 해나가는 데 중요한 역할을 한다는 연구모델을 검증하였다. 한국직업능력개발원에서 종단적으로 조사한 교육고용패널자료를 분석한 결과 인터넷을 여가생활과 사회관계에 활용하는 정도가 높아질수록 엄마의 기대 및 잔소리를 과도하게 느낄수록 인터넷 중독증상이 심각해진다. 또한 대학생들이 인터넷에 몰입하는 수준이 높을 때 아버지의 기대와 간섭이 과도하게 느껴지면 인터넷 중독을 유발시켜 학교생활에 부정적인 영향을 미친다. 인터넷을 학습에 활용하는 비중이 높거나 어머니와의 관계가 공정하다고 인식하면 학업생활에서 대인관계가 긍정적인 방향으로 조성된다. 반면 어머니의 자녀의 생활에 대한 기대와 간섭이 높으면서 인터넷을 적극적으로 활용하면 학교에서 대인관계가 긍정적으로 조성된다. 현 연구는 대학생활에서 부모-자녀와의 관계를 어떻게 정립하는가에 따라 인터넷 중독과 학교에서의 대인관계에 유의미한 영향을 미쳐 학업생활의 성패를 좌우할 수 있다. 따라서 부모-자녀와의 관계서 자율과 통제가 최적 수준으로 조합되도록 대학생 부모와 자녀가 다 함께 노력하여야 한다. 현 연구의 표본자료의 85%가 여대생으로 구성되어 있어서 남자대학생이 경우 모델의 타당성이 의문시 될 수 있으므로 앞으로의연구에서는 남자대학생을 확보하여 조사하여야 한다.

The present study examines how Internet use and parental relations provide impacts on Internet addiction and interpersonal relations of college students. The results of the study show that Internet on leisures and social networking are positively related with Internet addiction. At high-level of Internet on leisures and social networking, Father's expectations and interferences exacerbate Internet addiction. On the other hand, mother's expectations and interferences mitigate Internet addiction. Moreover, when college students perceive relationships with mother as equal and rational, they are more likely to have positive interpersonal relations with their colleagues. The present study suggest that college students and their parents foster relations integrating autonomy and control at optimal level. As the 85% of the sample in this study is female university student, future study must confirm male university students.
