수능성적에 영향을 미치는 사교육비, 수업태도 효과 추정

Abstract

이 연구는 한국교육고용패널(KEEP) 중학생 1차~4차 패널데이터를 사용하여 수능성적에 영향을 미치는 부모학력, 사교육비, 수업태도 효과를 추정하였다. 한국사회에서 수능성적은 초·중등 교육활동을 망라하는 총합적인 학업성취이자 학교교육을 마친 후의 진로와 경력을 결정하는 중요한 요인이다. 따라서 수능성적이 어떤 요인에 영향을 받는지, 그 변화는 어떤 차이에서 기인하는지 파악하는 것은 교육적인 측면을 넘어서 사회적 관심사라 해도 과언이 아니다. 그럼에도 수능성적에 영향을 미치는 요인을 명확하게 확인하는 것은 여전히 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 학업성취 선행연구들이 제시하는 의미 있는 요인을 중심으로 그 인과관계를 확인해 봄으로써 수능성적 결정요인을 탐색해 보고자한다. 특히 수능성적에 영향을 미치는 수많은 요인 중에 학교 내 학습과 학교 밖 요인을 비교하여 그 영향력을 확인해 보고자 하는 것이다. 즉, 학교 내 학습활동은 수업태도로 학교 밖 학습을 위해 지원되는 요인을 사교육비로 상정하여 그러한 요인들이 학교 급, 학년에 따라 변화가 있는지, 그 변화가 수능성적에 의미있는 영향을 미치는지 확인하는 것이다. 분석방법은 인과관계 변화추정을 위해 잠재성장모형분석을 하였으며 분석을 위해 사용한 프로그램은 LISREL 8.8이다. 분석결과는 중등학생의 수능성적이 어떤 요인에 의해 더 영향을 받는지, 그 변화는 어떻게 나타나는지를 탐색해 볼 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다.

Using a sample from the KEEP, this study analyzes the cause and effect of private tutoring expenditure and classes attitude to scholastic ability test scores by using panel data ranging from seniors of middle school to seniors of high school longitudinally. Analysis variables were the family back ground(parents’ school career), classes attitude(in school learning), private tutoring expenditure(out of school learning), and scholastic ability test scores(academic achievement). We conducted Latent Growth Model(LGM) using program LISREL 8.8. Concretely, a panel analysis and a path analysis are conducted to assure what influence the private tutoring expenditure and classes attitude have on scholastic ability test scores. Results showed that there were significant effects of private tutoring expenditure intercept and classes attitude intercept, slope to scholastic ability test scores. But, there is no significant effects of the private tutoring expenditure slope to scholastic ability test scores. This result is believed to be useful to understanding of causality the private tutoring expenditure, classes attitude and scholastic ability test scores on secondary school student’s.
