대학생의 자격취득이 노동시장 이행에 미치는 영향

Abstract

자격의 노동시장 성과를 정확하게 파악하기 위하여 대학 졸업생 가운데 교육？의약계열을 제외하고, 국가자격, 민간자격, 국제자격 보유자를 대상으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 다른 조건이 같다면 국가자격 보유는 정규직 취업 가능성(18.6%)을 평균적으로 높이나, 구직활동으로부터 탈출(▽7.9%)을 늦추고 있다. 민간자격 보유는 정규직 취업 가능성(16.4%)을 높이고, 구직대열에서 이탈(7.9%)을 촉진하고 있다. 국제자격은 취업제고 효과가 없으나 미약한 임금 프리미엄(3.4%, 유의수준 8%)을 누리고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전체 자격에서 재직기간연장효과는 발견되지 않았다. 이는 대학 졸업자 노동시장에서 자격이 특정분야 구인요건의 충족으로 작동하는 것이 아니라, 구직자 취업준비의 한 요소로 여겨지고 있음을 암시한다. 그러므로 대학생들은 취업하고자 하는 직무분야에서 인정되는 자격을 선별하여 취득하고, 과도한 취득 비용이 예상되는 국제자격 등은 제한적으로 접근할 필요가 있다.

This study analyzes the qualifications obtained by university students as part of their preparation for future employment. It reveals that the possession of national qualifications(18.6%) and private qualifications(16.4%) were found to contribute to heightening employability. However, as far as wages were concerned, a slight increase(3.4%) was revealed only in international qualifications. A period analysis finds that the possession of private qualifications does heighten the employment rate (7.9%). However, not one of these three kinds of qualifications have any influence during the actual period of employment. These results imply that qualifications do not help to satisfy job requirements in specific job fields, but rather are regarded as an element of job seekers’ preparations for employment. Therefore, university students focus on acquiring the qualifications in the particular field where they desire to seek jobs.
