Abstract

There has been a growing demand for the gradual and systematic information on career counseling ranging the whole life to the people as a primary subject for the establishment of lifelong education in the knowledge-based society in the 21st century. To that effect the Ministry of Education selected it as the main subject to establish and operate the Career Development Center in establishing the 5-year plan for the educational development. It also trusted our institution for its practical operation. Since its foundation in 25 August 1999, Career Development Center aims to work on a wide variety of program developments concerning the career counseling within the framework as well as collect, elaborate, and distribute the information related to various career development in the year 2000. Career Development Center operates the career development information room on a tentative basis, enabling the guests to review a wide range of books, video tapes, and CD-ROMs. Beyond that, it provides a variety of information through Careernet (http://careernet.krivet.re.kr). In addition, it furnishes information on career development by participating in the job fairs. It provides diverse test services in order to establish the plans for individual career development. For example, it implements the career interest test for secondary school students and career preference test for the adult. It also exercised the professional interpretation and career counseling on the test result, implanting the cyber counseling through the Q&A section in the Careernet as well as career and educational counseling sections in the Edunet. ...
