전문교과 교사의 전문적 학습공동체 운영 현황 및 지원 방안

Abstract

국내에 전문적 학습공동체 개념이 도입된 이후 전문적 학습공동체를 통한 교원의 전문성 함양에 대한 많은 논의가 있어왔으나, 전문교과 교사의 전문적 학습공동체 활동에 대해서는 실증적 연구가 부족하다. 이 연구는 전문교과 교사의 전문적 학습공동체 운영 현황과 그들의 인식과 경험 등을 다각적으로 파악하고, 조사 결과에 기반하여 전문적 학습공동체의 원활한 운영 및 활성화를 도모하기 위한 지원 방안 등을 탐색하여 정책 제언을 하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 전문교과 교사의 전문적 학습공동체 운영 현황을 문헌 분석, 설문조사, 표적집단면담 등의 다양한 연구 방법을 활용하여 파악하였다. 구체적으로 전문교과 교사가 참여하는 학교 안과 학교 밖의 전문적 학습공동체의 참여 동기, 활동 내용, 개선 및 지원 필요 사항 등을 중점적으로 살펴보았다. 이 조사 내용을 정리하고 그 결과를 바탕으로 정책 방안을 도출하였다.

Since the concept of a Professional Learning Community(PLC) was introduced in Korea, there has been much discussion about improving teacher professionalism through collaborative PLC. However, there is a lack of empirical research on the PLC for Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) teachers. This study aimed to explore the current status of PLCs for TVET teachers in vocational high schools, and the teachers’ experiences in PLCs. Also, this study attempted to discover how to support PLCs for TVET teachers that influence their collaborative learning and growth. The mixed method was employed to combine the statistical data from the survey and the results from in-depth interviews of TVET teachers. This study revealed the motivation for their participation in PLCs, the content of their activities in PLCs inside and outside their schools. Also, this study uncovered what factors support or hinder their learning within PLCs. Based on the research findings, the implications and recommendations were elucidated.
