한국 청년들의 행복에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

본 연구는 한국교육고용패널조사(KEEP) 데이터를 활용하여 청년의 행복에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해 분석하였다. 한국 청년들의 행복에 자아개념, 직무만족, 건강, 대인신뢰 및 주변안전이 통계적으로 유의미한 변수로 확인되었다. 한국 청년들의 행복에 통계적으로 유의미한 변수로 가장 두드러진 것은 자아개념이었다. 이와 같은 결과는 개인의 행복수준은 객관적이고 측정 가능한 변인에 의해 도출된다기보다 사건이나 환경을 긍정적인 방식으로 경험하게 하는 개인의 경향성에 의해 결정된다고 보는 일련의 관점을 지지하는 것이다. 다음으로 직무만족이 높을수록, 건강하다고 인식할수록 행복하다고 응답할 가능성이 높았다. 또한 사회자본도 청년 행복과 관련이 있는 것으로 확인되었으며, 여성이 남성에 비해 행복하다고 응답하였다. 인간은 누구나 행복을 추구하며 살아간다. 그러나 무언가 포기하며 살아가는 세대라 자조하는 한국 청년들의 행복에 어떠한 변수들이 영향을 미치는지 살펴봄으로써, 청년들의 행복을 실증적으로 탐색하였다는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

This study is designed to explore factors affecting Korean young adult’s happiness, using binominal logistic regression analysis. We used panel data, the Korea Education and Employment Panel(KEEP). The results are as follows. The key factors affecting Korean young adult’s happiness are self-concept, job satisfaction, health, interpersonal generalized trust, local community safety and gender. Positive self-concept is suggested as a strong influence on happiness. Also, happiness is significantly related to job satisfaction and health. Interestingly social capital as interpersonal generalized trust and local community safety has an influence on subjectively perceived happiness. Korean young female has the possibility to be happier than young male. Taken together, the findings of this study suggested that strategies to improve various factors be needed for young adult’s happiness.
