중등교육기간 사교육이 대학학업과 직업활동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 한국교육고용패널(KEEP) 데이터를 활용하여 고3시기의 사교육이 대학학업과 직업활동에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 주요 분석은 고교시기 투입된 사교육비용과 투입된 사교육비가 입시에 도움을 준 정도가 입학 한 학교에 대한 만족과 학업태도 그리고 학업성적과 같은 대학학업 그리고 취업 후 직업활동에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 특히 고3시기의 사교육과 대학과정 그리고 직업활동에 대한 맥락이 다른 인문계와 전문계, 남성과 여성 집단에 따라 각각 분석하여 비교하였다. 분석방법은 구조방정식모형이며 LISREL 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 사교육, 대학학업, 직업활동 간 인과관계 맥락은 계열 및 성별에 따라 부분적으로 차이가 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 중등교육 시기의 사교육이 대학학업과 직업활동에 미치는 효과를 확인할 수 있으며, 이는 한국사회 사교육 문제를 대처할 수 있는 실증적인 기초 정보로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

This study examines the effects of private tutoring to academic and occupational performance using KEEP data the 1st and the 11th waves. It is hypothesized that there are causal relations among private tutoring, academic performance in college, occupational performance in workplace. In particular, this study compares the gender and the educational attainment in terms of differences between two types of high schools. The method used in this study is SEM analysis by LISREL program. As a result, there is no significant in the effects of private tutoring to academic and occupational performance. The results of this study are expected to provide suggestions for identifying training and learning information necessary for adolescents in the transition process from school to work.
