중·고등학교 중도탈락생을 위한 대안교육기관의 직업교육기능 강화방안

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 개인적, 가정적, 사회적, 환경적 제약 등 각종 이유로 교육의 기회를 상실한 중·고등학교 중도 탈락생들이 대안교육체제를 통해 직업교육의 기회를 획득할 수 있도록 체제를 재구성하는 것이다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 첫째, 중도 탈락생의 특수성을 고려한 직업교육과정을 운영하기 위한 여건 조성의 가능성을 탐색하며, 둘째, 대안교육기관의 직업교육과정 운영 실태를 분석하고, 셋째, 국가의 지원을 원활하게 할 수 있는 법적·제도적 장치를 개발 또는 개선하려고 한다.

According to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, there are about 70,000 dropout students in the middle and high school. Especially, around 50,000 dropout students not adapted for formal education . It is too hard to keep up working their study, because most of these students have a disadvantaged family circumstances. For dropout students, socially many kinds of alternative schools are provided, such as institutions for life-long learning and the specialized high schools. Actually, there are more than 10 kinds of alternative institutions and certified schools give high school diploma. However, these alternative schools are not enough for the dropout students with the disadvantaged family circumstances. Accordingly, our study explored the possibility for performing vocational education, analyzed the curriculum of the vocational education of alternative institutions and proposed the national strategies for supporting the alternatives institutions.
