대졸청년층의 구직과정 및 취업의 질적 수준 분석: 전공계열별 차이를 중심으로

Abstract

이 연구는 대졸청년층의 구직과정 및 취업의 질적 수준을 분석하고, 전공계열에 따라 이 과정에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 대졸청년층의 구직과정은 취업준비활동과 구직경로로 구분하고, 취업의 질적 수준은 종사상 지위, 역량, 전공, 취업목표 일치도라는 4개 항목으로 정의하였다. 취업의 질적 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보기 위하여, 개인, 가정, 학교 배경과 더불어 전공계열과 구직과정의 특성을 추가하여 분석하고, 기술통계 및 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 구직과정과 취업의 질적 수준은 전공계열에 따라 상당한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 취업의 질적 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 중, 전공계열에 따른 차이가 가장 크게 나타났고, 성별？학점？대학소재지 등이 유의미하였으며, 구직경로와 재학 중 일경험이 유의하였다. 이 연구결과는 전공계열의 특성을 고려한 다양한 취업지원 방안이 필요하다는 점과 노동시장의 수요를 고려한 전공계열별 구조조정이 불가피하다는 점을 시사한다.

This study aims to explore the job search processes and quality of employment of college graduate focusing on the differences across academic majors. In this study, the job search processes were considered job preparation activities (educational background and previous working experience of college graduates) and employment path (method, time and effort). In addition, the quality of employment conditions was regarded as five sub-units: employment status, matching between job and employment goals, education levels, technology levels, and academic majors. To analyze the differences across academic majors and effect on quality of employment, descriptive statistics and logistic regression were used. The study found that the job search processes and the quality of employment are represented different results according to the graduate’s academic major. The determinants of quality in employment conditions are also considerably depending on academic majors. Therefore, the findings suggested that each university should make diverse career development programs for graduate with consideration for academic majors.
