대학특성화정책과의 조응을 위한 대학 취업률 지표 연구

Abstract

본 연구에서는 학과별 취업률이 격차를 가지는 현실적인 상황에서 학과 구성상의 차이로 인한 대학 취업률 산정의 문제점을 살펴보고, 계열별 대학취업지수를 이용한 대학 취업률 지표 산정의 보정방안을 제시한다. 기존 취업률과 보정 취업률을 비교할 때, 기존 취업률 지표와 전공계열별 특성을 반영한 보정 취업률 지표 사이에 높은 상관이 있어, 본질적으로는 두 지표 사이에 큰 차이가 나타나지는 않는다. 그러나 전반적으로는 매우 높은 유사성을 보일지라도 일부 대학에서는 취업률 순위가 변화될 수 있음이 보인다. 특정 전공계열을 중심으로 특성화되어 있는 대학의 경우, 특히 학교의 규모가 작은 경우에는 전공계열별 노동시장 특성에 더 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타난다. 기존의 대학 취업률에 기반을 둔 대학 평가는 ‘선택과 집중’에 따른 전문화와 다양화를 지향하도록 하는 대학특성화정책과 상충될 수 있기에, 대학특성화정책과의 조응을 위하여 본 연구에서 제시되는 보정 취업률의 적용이 제안된다.

This study explores the problem in calculating the employment rate of university graduates generated from the difference in departmental composition while the employment rate has gaps among departments in the real world situation, and presents a compensating plan for calculating university graduates’ employment rate by using the university employment index by major. The results indicate that current employment rate and compensated employment rate are highly correlated. There is no essential difference between the two indicators. However, despite the very high overall similarity, some universities, the employment rate ranking could be changed. In case of universities which are specialized by specific major, especially for small-size universities, are more affected by characteristics of the labor market. By compensating the employment rate of university graduates through reflecting special features by majoring school, the disadvantages on evaluation of the universities, which try to specialize into the areas with disbenefit for employment, can be resolved and a smooth proceeding of specialization policy in the future is expected.
