Innovative Vocational Training Strategies for Middle-Aged Adults in Response to Carbon Neutrality

Date
2025.05.20
In response to industrial restructuring driven by the transition to carbon neutrality, shifts in occupational categories among middle-aged workers have become inevitable, highlighting the growing need for targeted vocational training for this demographic. To address this issue, a survey was conducted among stakeholders involved in vocational training for middle-aged adults, which identified three key areas and twelve specific strategies for innovation: ▲ strengthening carbon neutrality governance functions, ▲ advancing specialized training for middle-aged workers, and ▲ supporting participation in carbon neutrality training.
According to an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis, the highest-priority tasks were identified as: ▲ establishing policy directions and a roadmap for the government’s carbon neutrality initiatives, ▲ providing local government support linked to specific industries, and ▲ building support systems for ESG-oriented management practices in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These findings underscore the need for policy-driven direction and customized support to systematically enhance vocational training aligned with carbon neutrality goals.
